Saturday Tabata

Those of you who attended class last Saturday would have seen another dog on screen. I should introduce him to you all. His name is Artie and he belongs to my sisters’ family. I have put a photo up for you all. He looks very sweet in this photo! He does like to join in with the exercises and he is pretty vocal too!!

Anna’s Fitness Pilates Class

From Nicky –

Hi Clare – it was great having Anna on the screen and despite not meeting her she certainly gave me confidence.
As you say it is completely different and I did find 1 minute tough (perhaps it is age!) but because the exercises are new, one’s eyes are on the screen too to keep checking.  I am sure that will get better.
I presume it is the new aerobic Pilates or Tabata?
I found thinking about bringing up toes difficult along with doing round the world with your legs while bending; I got in a muddle!!
Unusually I did work up a sweat and slept well!  I can feel everything this morning well done Anna!

Updates From Wessex Fitness

Hello From Wessex Fitness

Where has the summer gone? I hope that’s not it!!

We have had a busy week here. Anna has bought some new equipment and we will be showing it in the next few weeks.

I thought we would have some news about classes starting back but sadly haven’t yet! As soon as I have some positive news I will let you all know.

Anna is sorry that she couldn’t do Thursdays class live. She had to go and see her dad after her grandmother passed away.

Monday is Bank Holiday. It is a very late one this year. Last day of August.

I have decided to do the class in the morning instead just in case you want to go out for the day. I will upload it straight after class if you want to do it later in the day. This will be at 9.30 am, same as Tabata.

I would like some feedback about Anna’s class please. She is enjoying it and wants you to enjoy it too. It’s very different than mine but still works your core well, plus an abundance of other muscles. You will get used to the routines after a few weeks.

We will just carry on as we are for now. My hours at the sports centre won’t change for the foreseeable future as we are going to continue with small classes in large areas. My pilates class at the sports centre has worked well as we have 11 people in a very large studio so they are over 2 meters apart. We do need to do the same once we are back to classes.

If I do hear anything next week I will send out an email straight away so please keep an eye on your inbox!

Have an enjoyable week and let’s hope we get the sun back!!

Exciting News!!

We now have a new fitness pilates instructor on board. A big welcome to Anna who has just passed her course.

I am so pleased as it means that we will be adding a much wider variety of classes, all these will be included in your membership!

For those that don’t know, Anna is my daughter. She is a business teacher at Budmouth College in Weymouth.

She is a triathlete so is very fit!

She is excited to be teaching pilates.

Because I am back at work on a Thursday evening, Anna will be taking the 6pm class. This will be for August only.
Anna will be posting on the facebook page and NEW instagram page (Wessexfitnesspilates) for those who have those.

We are no closer to finding out when and where we are going with regard to starting classes.

One piece of Sad news, Jo is closing Bindon Abbey Wellness Retreat. She will finish there in mid September.

Weights

Wessex fitness Pilates

Hand weights can be used for Tabata and Pilates. I will be introducing them into classes very soon.

There are two places to get your hand weights from at the moment. They do sell out very quickly so it’s best to check online first. You can get delivery if you wish.

Argos has a pair of 1kg weights for £5.99, 2kg for £5.99

Decathlon has a pair og 0.5 kg for 2.99. 1kg for £4.99. 1.5kg for £6.99, 2kg for £9.99

I am using 1.5 kg but do find these quite tough for arm exercises. I will be using 1kg when I remember to bring them back from my locker at work!
